Tucked into the outskirts of Visalia is Table 57. A True Food and kitchen restaurant. We were looking for a breakfast or brunch place to bring my mother in law so we can have an early mother's day and birthday celebration for her. My husband googled places in Visalia and came across Table 57. Even though I am a Yelper, I am still catching up to Fresno's growing food culture, but every now and then, I do like to venture out to other cities in the Central Valley. It is not in a regular building. It is in a warehouse industrial box type building. Parking was fairly easy to finf. However, the interior is very simple, industrial, modern and clean. Service was friendly and fast. Everything was great, my one suggestion is because it gets crowded near the door, maybe put a bench right outside of the doors or near the entrance. They had specials posted on butcher paper at the host desk and they had a very nice and simple menu. My husband got country fried steak and loved his plate. My mother in law got a sausage breakfast burrito and loved it. I got a stuffed French toast with sausage. It had blueberries and strawberries, cream cheese, homemade caramel syrup and toasted coconuts on top. It was something Fresno doesn't have or if they do, I haven't found it yet. The French toast tasted like a mix of French toast and a bagel to me. The cream cheese stuffed in it made me feel like i was eating a bagel. It was 96 for the 3 of us before tip because mother in law and I each had a mimosa, I got a guava mimosa and my mother in law got an orange mimosa. My husband had a michelada made with Modelo which was quite refreshing. I don't come to these neck of the woods often, but if I were in Visalia and wanted a good breakfast, I would definitely return. In addition, the host and our waitress were absolutely friendly.

The best biscuits and gravy that I have tried a very long time, of course, accompanied by a mimosa

So... I'm a bit of a Chicken Fried Steak aficionado. I've had many. I've rarely had CFS that met my standards though. Most, but not all of the good ones were in the South, especially Texas. I just had one that exceeds my standards though. The best Chicken Fried Steak I've ever had comes from an unassuming cafe in an industrial part of Visalia, CA. This one was perfectly cooked and seasoned, nice and tender, with the lightest and airiest crust I've ever experienced. The gravy had the perfect consistency and salt level, while carrying more peppery heat than I'm used to seeing, but which I found delightful. The one thing I'll change next time is to ask for no green onions. Cynthia had a Breakfast Banana Split and loved that too. Table 57 replaced the previous "The Cafe," where I had previously experienced one of the best CFS back in 2018, and which was "Tommy's Cafe" before that. I don't remember angels singing when I had that previous CFS though...

Pancakes were rubbery. Food overall was ok. Beautifully decorated food presented nicely. Good service . Becoming a bit pricey. Noisy in room off the entry. Very clean . Staff affable , efficient and friendly

Table 57 has an unusual location in a commercially/industrial zoned area, like where you might get your chain saw repaired or buy bark mulch. The inside is clean and bright. I had iced tea and huevos rancheros. Delicious with big home style potatoes. I am not normally a fan of stacked food but the stack let all the flavors permeate. Quite good! And very attentive wait staff. They are only open until 2 pm so pay attention to time.

Oh my word! Table 57 is incredible!! In short, the jalapeno grits and the sweet potato fries were single handedly the best of each that I've ever tried. I'm not a huge sweet potato fries person, but WOW these were incredible. I would not have come here based on Yelp reviews, but I'm so glad I did when a friend who lives locally recommended this place. We shared the tri tip breakfast plate with a side of sweet potato fries. This was definitely enough for two people. The tri tip had a jerk-esque seasoning and was good but it was on the drier side. Not sure if I would order the tri tip again, but I could eat the jalapeno grits and sweet potato fries over and over again. The fries were incredibly crunchy and soft on the inside. The service was quick, and our server was friendly. The restaurant is in an industrial complex so it's hard to find from the street, but it's not difficult. If you're passing through Visalia or a local here, definitely give this place a try!
